OPE-WAX Introduction

Oxidized polyethylene wax is produced by introducing oxygen-containing polar functional groups into a polyethylene chain. The combination of a polyethylene backbone and controlled polarity provides balanced lubrication, fusion control, dispersion, release and interfacial compatibility.

  • Structure & Polarity

    Controlled oxidation introduces oxygen-containing polar groups while retaining the polyethylene structure. This gives OPE wax a balanced combination of lubrication, polarity and interfacial affinity toward polymers, pigments and fillers.

  • Fusion & Lubrication Balance

    In PVC processing, OPE wax promotes fusion while maintaining balanced lubrication. It helps regulate torque and melt flow, supporting efficient fusion and a stable processing window.

  • Release & Plate-Out Control

    OPE wax combines strong metal release with good compatibility in PVC systems. Controlled interfacial interaction reduces adhesion and friction while helping limit lubricant migration, plate-out and deposits during continuous processing.

  • Compatibility & Optical Performance

    Good compatibility helps OPE wax distribute uniformly within polymer systems and reduces uneven migration. In transparent formulations, suitable grades can support good clarity, low haze and stable processing.

  • Dispersion & Interfacial Performance

    OPE wax improves the wetting and dispersion of pigments and fillers while supporting compatibility with the polymer matrix, making it an effective dispersion and processing aid.
